We Need Christ
12.18.15

Christmas is coming, and the majority of us -- believers or otherwise -- understand what this day represents. It's the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

For many of us, Christmas is a great day. It's a day when we remember how God saved us, extending grace and blessings to us even when we didn't deserve them. It's a day of hope, love, and joy, and a day when we spend time with family and friends. And, yes, it's even a day of giving and receiving gifts.

For others, Christmas is a day that stirs a whole different set of thoughts and feelings. For some it's a day of sadness, a day of loneliness, a day of heartache, and even a day for anger. For some it's a reminder of how they have been made to feel condemned, unworthy, unloved, uncared for, and excluded. Some even remember being told how unacceptable they are to God, accompanied by threats and insults. In essence, for these, Christmas is a day when the memories of years past come ringing in their ears, and they just want the season to be over.

To those who have been made to feel as though they are somehow less than what they should be, allow me to say, I'm sorry. I don't know who hurt you or how they did it. Nevertheless, I'm sorry for what you had to endure, and I'm sorry that it hurt you so deeply.

A lot of people say a lot of things about God believing they know who He is, and a lot of people place undue burdens on others believing they are doing the right thing. But unfortunately, people are imperfect. They make mistakes. However, I want you to know, regardless of what people may have told you, the Lord does not condemn you. He loves you, He cares for you, and He accepts you just the way you are.

Yes, He is real. And yes, He is waiting for you, desiring more than anything to be close to you. He longs to take the burdens you have carried for so long, and bring healing to you. Let Him do so.

We all need Christ. You need Christ, I need Christ, we all need God in our lives. And those who diligently seek Him will find Him.

Luke 2:8-14 (KJV)
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

If you liked this message, then I'd like to ask you to please consider contributing to the work God has called me to do by giving a financial gift. Your support is vital in helping the message of "Freedom in Christ" go forth, bringing liberty to all. (Galatians 5:1) The Lord has made us to lean upon one another, and in doing so, together we are strengthened. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) So take all that I have freely offered, but then, consider giving back, as this is what the Lord would have us do. Click the "Gifts" link at the top of this page to find out how you can help.

May God bless you richly!
